Birth and death information based upon a hand-written note in Cornelia's personal hymnal, JOYFUL GREETING for the SABBATH-SCHOOL, by J. E. White (published by The Review and Herald Publishing, Co., Battle Creek, MI, 1890.). Cornelia's name is imprinted in gold on the front cover, and an inscription on the facepage states, "Presented to Mother by Johnni, Lina, & Graci, Merry Christmas". On the back facepage is written, "To Orvie, from Grandma, who died Jan. 6, 1899. Aged 75:10,24." Using this information, Cornelia's birth was 13 Feb 1823. The "Johnni" named on the opening facepage would be Cornelia's youngest son, while "Lina" would be Arnold John's wife, and "Graci" would be their daughter.
Place of birth based upon the 1880 Census for North Shade Township, Gratiot County, MI. Enumeration District #28, page 562, District #3, Dwelling #193, Family #194.
Information on Marriage found in PROTESTANT SENTINAL, (Seventh Day Baptist Journal), Nov., 1838.
