John Eyre of Oxenton and Pamington circa 1420 claimed a large estate in Northway and Fiddington; a Robert Eyre in 1531 was recorded, and the William Cole of Northway who sold the Fiddington manor in 1572 was alternately surnamed Eyre. The estate was called "Coles Place".
